Flagstaff, AZ 86001
Located just a block North of Route 66, the historic Monte Vista hotel is a fun place with a history and character all its own.
The unique and colorful decor is unique, the celebrities who’ve stayed there are many, and the ghosts are real???? A short walk to many downtown attractions. The rates vary by season starting from $50 on up. There is also a 2 story Monte Vista Lounge within the hotel that plays live music on the weekends.

Our experience at the Candlewood Suites located on N. White River Pkwy close to downtown was superb and far superior to any other chain we’ve stayed at when it comes to perks, service, style, convenience, and value for the buck. I was impressed to find we could take a complimentary shuttle downtown and thus save ourselves the stress of parking and driving. After our night on the town, we used the taxi service number given to us by the shuttle driver that saved us 50% on our fare back to our room. Our room was fantastic, practically new, and we found many extra comforts such as paper towels, full size fridge, dishwasher, stove top, dishes, etc. The bed was comfortable, the internet access was fast, oh, and the washer and dryers were FREE for guests to use which is pretty incredible considering their price was less than other hotel chains in the area which just looked like they had regular ol’ beds and tvs. We made the right choice. I loved our stay at Candlewood Suites and would highly recommend it. A+
23 Bean Pot Campground Loop
Crossville, TN 38571
This cute little campground has character. You can camp, park or rent a rustic cabin, either way you’ll have access to the property wide wifi connection, clean bathrooms with hot showers, laundry facility and a library share program-take a book, leave a book. Kind of nice. We rented a cabin and the owner was nice enough to bring us a portable heater. Fresh woodsy smells, wooden swings and picnic tables-this is just one of those nice “getaways” that make you feel like you’ve discovered something special-a down to earth Mom and Pop type place where the people working there care. The cabins were reasonably priced in the $25-35 range, but remember to bring your own linens.

$44 Very decent room, awesome water pressure with endless hot water. Small fridge and microwave. If you get the chance, check out the grocery store across the street called Pic-N-Sav Super Market. Everything is at cost plus 10%-I was amazed by the low prices.
1437 Hwy 41 North
Calhoun, GA 30701
$32.50/night This was the best value in the area in our humble opinions. A clean room with a nice king size bed and WiFi. We took it easy and let the local Domino’s deliver our supper.
11505 Lo Lo Mai Rd.
Page Springs, AZ $32.06
This was a great nature campground with beautiful towering trees, trails, and a nearby river. There is a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and laundry facility. One word of caution-there were many skunks once the sun began to set, so if you have a dog, you’ll want to keep it on a leash-I’ve heard they like to spray dogs, but usually leave humans and cats alone. They did not give us any trouble and it made for a highly unusual experience.

We took a break from camping and sleeping in the van to enjoy one night of luxury at the Best Western’s jacuzzi suite. A charming place with friendly staff.
Pagosa Springs, CO
Here I used the wonderful pool filled with warm mineral water, it was like a dream come true, the perfect temperature, and for just $9 I could stay as long as I wanted. Inside there was another hot spring that I spent a few minutes in also. That one was much hotter. A+ much less resorty and crowded like the one across the street, more like a private sanctuary.

Outdoor jacuzzi, nice room, nice ice machine.
This B&B is privately owned and operated. Located in Villa Grove, Colorado just off highway 285 on county road LL 56, and not too far from the old Ghost Town of Bonanza, this small family operated bed and breakfast is sure to charm. There are 6 cute country style rooms available- each with it’s own rustic, western or wilderness theme and individual outdoor entrance. There are also 7 RV sites near Kerber Creek with hookups for water, sewer and electric. Many people come for the 4-wheeling trails, whitewater rafting, and fishing, but we came to relax with friends and family. I love it here, it is so secluded and beautiful with rolling hills all around. The owners really spoil us rotton too-homemade chocolate chip cookies, and the breakfast that is included when you stay in one of the rooms is just delicious!
