Who Are We?
Who Are We?
I’m Sandra-the one with my head just above the clouds who is always writing or daydreaming. I love traveling because it makes me feel free, like anything is possible-I like all the surprises, interesting people and unusual circumstances we find ourselves in. I’m a big fan of natural health, learning, and love a good cup of tea.
I’m traveling with my compadre, Chris, who is responsible for most of the wonderful pictures displayed on Scribbleworld.com -and he’s also the one who makes this trip orderly-keeping track of all the places we’ve been with GPS coordinates and maps. When he has time, he likes to play his electric guitar.
I believe life is about taking chances-doing what makes sense to you, even if to the rest of the world it sounds odd or downright nutty. We sold and gave away most of our stuff before hitting the road in our Honda Odyssey. You can see our vehicle’s humble beginnings by clicking the link at the top of the page.
Sometimes we look up and notice one of those big fancy RVs….talk about traveling on easy street- with their well equipped bathrooms, 6 minute showers, kitchenettes, and other luxuries reserved for the very super excessively wealthy. (*ok, so maybe some RVs have even longer hot showers-but must you people rub it in?!)
It feels like an -Either/Or- conundrum. If we travel the way most tourists prefer, we need lots of money, which takes time to earn and depletes other valuable resources like health, youth, and possibly even our enthusiasm. I’ve been listening to you grumpy old farts quite long enough, and I have no choice but to listen before I become a grumpy old fart myself, “growing old sucks kid, enjoy your youth while it lasts…if only I’d known then what I know now…there’s only one comfy feather bed in life-and it’s called youth…and, finally, without your health you have nothing.”
So hey, good news, we’ve decided to listen, imagine that! –Youth and health are our treasures– we get it. But we still have to eat, and we still have to face a number of challenges, because let’s face it, people love children, but once you turn 18 you’re on your own-you’re expected to go to college and your reward for all that is to spend the next 40 years of your life working. That’s how this society is designed, unless you have rich parents (which we do not). Nevertheless, it is our goal to scribble the world! (”Scribble” because that’s how erratic our path looks from above).
To the left you will find links to our adventures sorted by date or category, or use the handy search feature in the upper right corner of the page if you are looking for something more specific.
